Henley-on-Thames

Henley-on-Thames is a handsome riverside town best known for rowing and the annual Henley Royal Regatta. Its eighteenth- and nineteenth-century centre, arched bridge, town hall and long relationship with the river create a more polished, prosperous atmosphere than many of the smaller filming villages.

The riverfront, market square and independent streets can comfortably fill half a day, with the River and Rowing Museum adding depth beyond the television connection. Regatta and festival dates transform both access and crowd levels, so a quiet-location visit is best planned outside major events.
