The Village Murder Casebook is a structured, static fan-and-travel guide. It is independent, unofficial and built to grow through original editorial work.
Editorial approach
Every released episode through Series 25 has an expanded dossier with an original overview, production credits, guest-cast research and filming notes. Uncertain details are marked or withheld rather than guessed. Open the live research ledger.
Artwork and identity
The visual identity and village illustrations are original. Each village-atlas scene is individually generated from that setting's recorded episode premise and themes, with the fictional location name embedded in the artwork. They are clearly labelled AI-generated story interpretations, not canonical views or photographs of real filming locations. Programme logos, episode stills, scripts and promotional graphics are not reproduced.
Spoiler policy
Search results reveal premises but keep solutions sealed by default. Individual case pages place the final finding inside a deliberate disclosure control.
Commercial policy
Affiliate or paid links must be plainly labelled beside the link. Commercial destinations remain empty until the site owner approves an account, destination and disclosure. Read the full affiliate and commercial disclosure.
Review and corrections
Pages carry a site-wide reviewed date, while the research ledger records confirmed coverage and open source gaps. Corrections are assessed against published or first-party evidence before the archive is changed.
Who edits the Casebook
The site is independently edited and maintained by its owner. It is not written, commissioned or approved by ITV, Bentley Productions or the programme's rights holders.
Original identity
Two logo formats.
The compact seal is designed for favicons, navigation and social avatars. The horizontal signature is intended for headers, documents and partnership material. Both are original SVG artwork.
