Privacy notice
A quiet archive, without unnecessary tracking.
This notice explains what the Casebook does and does not collect. It was last reviewed on 6 September 2026.
Preferences saved on your device
The watchlist and spoiler settings use your browser's local storage. Those choices stay in that browser unless you clear them; they are not sent to a Casebook account or used to identify you.
Technical delivery and security
The hosting and network providers may process routine request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, requested page, browser details, time and security events. Cloudflare may set a short-lived, essential security cookie when its automated-traffic protections require it. The Casebook does not currently use this information for advertising profiles.
Other websites
Links to broadcasters, publishers, museums, maps, retailers and tour providers open services controlled by those organisations. Their own privacy and cookie notices apply after you choose to leave the Casebook.
Commercial links
No earning links are currently active. If affiliate or advertising technology is introduced, links will be labelled and this notice will be updated before any non-essential storage or tracking is used where consent is required. Read the commercial disclosure.
Correspondence
Email webmaster@villagemurdercasebook.co.uk or write to Does Your Duck Quack, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh · EH2 4AN. Information you send will be used to review and answer the enquiry and kept only as long as reasonably needed for that purpose or a related legal record. Do not send passwords, payment details or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Changes to this notice
This page will be reviewed when the site adds analytics, forms, accounts, newsletters, advertising or a materially different commercial arrangement. The review date above makes those changes visible.
