The Lions of Bledlow

The Lions of Bledlow is a village pub at Church End, with low timber beams, a thatched roof and a large open fire. The inn dates to the seventeenth or early eighteenth century, with later additions; it was formerly called the Red Lion. It sits among the historic buildings of Bledlow, beneath the Chiltern slopes, making it a natural pause on a village walk. That layered, lived-in interior and traditional pub frontage also explain its screen appeal. Its best-known Midsomer appearance is in Dead Man’s Eleven, where the pub is one of the real exteriors used around fictional Fletcher’s Cross; elsewhere it becomes several different village locals.

The changing pub names let the same welcoming, familiar-looking place belong to different communities, while the real village setting remains unmistakably Bledlow. The pub’s history page also describes its beams and fireplace, features that give the interior its character. Check the visitor information below for the pub’s own current details before travelling.
