Performer biography.
June Whitfield's exceptionally long career covered radio comedy, television sitcoms, theatre and film. She was a familiar presence in the Carry On films and starred opposite Terry Scott in Terry and June.
A later generation knew her as Edina Monsoon's mother in Absolutely Fabulous. Her Midsomer appearances, separated by several series, show the programme drawing on that long comic tradition.
