Laurel Newman marries Gavin Webster, the son of Sarah Barnaby's old friend, after the couple win an elaborate wedding package. Laurel has been receiving abusive messages and disturbing parcels linked to her radio work, and she is killed before the celebration is over.
Gavin's former partner Serena Madison is then murdered while modelling at a wedding fair. The investigation follows the broadcaster's colleagues, the wedding business and the relationships around the groom to determine whether the harassment records a motive or was used to disguise one.

Hazel WebsterHazel killed Laurel Newman while forcing her to explain Noel Webster's overdose, then killed Serena Madison after Laurel identified her and caused Aisha Khalique's fatal fall while trying to stop her leaving. Marcia Jackson's admitted assisted death of her husband Eddie and Gavin Webster's admission that he left Noel alive after the overdose are retained as separate earlier deaths rather than folded into Hazel's three-victim sequence.
Verified motive
Hazel's grief over Noel's overdose became a search for someone to blame. She attacked Laurel to force a confession, killed her when the interrogation went too far, then killed Serena after evidence supported Laurel's claim that Serena had encouraged Noel's relapse; Aisha died accidentally when Hazel tried to stop the witness leaving, while Gavin's earlier decision not to save Noel remains separate.
