The Crown
The Crown is a village pub in Sydenham, Oxfordshire, close to the parish church and the lanes that lead out towards the Chiltern countryside. The compact village setting makes a visit appealing: the church, pub and surrounding houses sit together among quiet rural roads, with lanes leading towards the Chiltern countryside. Pause near the church to take in the village centre before continuing along the quiet lanes. The Crown is also a familiar Midsomer interior. Its best-known role is The Stag Inn in Midsomer Abbas in The Night of the Stag; it later becomes The Green Man and The Captain Farrell, with village exteriors supplied elsewhere.
A stop here pairs naturally with a walk through Sydenham’s lanes and surrounding countryside. On screen, the pub’s interior gives several fictional villages a believable meeting place, even when the exterior changes to a different real village. Check the visitor information below for current details before setting out.
