Stephen Moyer is an English actor whose work began in theatre and British television. He became internationally familiar as vampire Bill Compton in the HBO series True Blood.

He subsequently starred in the superhero drama The Gifted and has continued to work in television, film and stage productions. His Midsomer part is a useful glimpse of his pre-True Blood screen work.
