Great Haseley Village Hall

Great Haseley Village Hall is a community venue in the Oxfordshire village of Great Haseley, surrounded by quiet lanes and the stone buildings of the historic village centre. The hall makes a good starting point for exploring nearby St Peter’s Church, which rises above the village, and footpaths leading through open countryside. The appeal here is the village setting rather than a heritage interior: Great Haseley’s churchyard, traditional buildings and rural lanes create a peaceful stop on a wider day out. Its modest, flexible interior is exactly what makes it useful on screen. In Picture of Innocence it becomes the venue for a village photography exhibition, and it also supplies a reception space and a fictional home.

The hall’s screen work moves between community life and domestic space. That shift is a useful reminder that a location’s fictional identity can come from how it is dressed and filmed, not simply from the real building’s everyday purpose.
